SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability

TEAM Multi Academy Trust has prioritised sustainability as one of the core objectives in our Trust 5 Year Strategy and we are committed to working toward embedding sustainability into all our future thinking, decisions and direction across the Trust.

At the heart of our community of students, staff and stakeholders, TEAM has a central role to play in educating its community about the importance of sustainability.  To achieve this, we must first practice what we preach.  To this end, we have signed up to the Let's Go Zero campaign, declaring our aim to work towards becoming carbon zero by 2030.  In doing so, we're joining schools across the UK in this national campaign to show the overwhelming support for zero carbon schools and inviting government and local councils to work with us to reach this goal.

       Our sustainability actions to date:

  • We have worked with a Let's Go Zero Climate Action Advisor to develop a Climate Action Plan for 2025-2026, highlighting our priorities for the coming year.
  • We have calculated our carbon footprint using the Count Your Carbon tool. This will enable us to benchmark our carbon output year on year.
  • Converted the majority of our interior lighting across the Trust to LED to cut our electricity usage.
  • Switched lights to use PIRs to automatically turn themselves off where possible.
  • Appointed Sustainability leads in each of our Trust Academies

Our future sustainability plans:

  • To install a BMS to manage our heating across the site from a central point.
  • To further develop our preferred supplier list to procure items from local suppliers wherever possible.
  • Sign up to Energy Sparks to monitor and reduce our energy consumption.
  • Undertaken significant heating improvement works to upgrade our boilers and improve the efficiency of our heating system.
  • Establish eco champions in every academy to support Sustainability leads in spearhead sustainability amongst the student body.
